Copyright Policy

  • DMCA: The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a U.S. law that outlines procedures for handling copyright infringement claims, including provisions for notice-and-takedown processes.
4. User Responsibilities
4.1. Original Content

All users of Planted Inc. are responsible for ensuring that any content they upload, share, or post on the platform is original or used with proper permission from the copyright owner. Users must:

  • Create or upload only content they own or have the legal right to use.
  • Properly attribute content to the original creator if required and respect any licensing terms associated with the content.
4.2. Prohibited Actions

The following actions are strictly prohibited on Planted Inc.:

  • Uploading, sharing, or distributing copyrighted material without the necessary rights or permission from the copyright owner.
  • Posting content that violates copyright laws, such as pirated movies, music, software, or other protected materials.
  • Modifying or creating derivative works from copyrighted material without proper authorization.
5. Notice-and-Takedown Procedure
5.1. Filing a Copyright Infringement Notice

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been used on Planted Inc. without your permission, you can file a copyright infringement notice by providing the following information to policies@plantedinc.io:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • A description of the content on Planted Inc. that you claim infringes your copyright, including a link or specific location on the platform.
  • Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
  • Your electronic or physical signature.

Planted Inc. will investigate the claim and, if necessary, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content.

5.2. Counter-Notice Procedure

If your content has been removed due to a copyright infringement claim and you believe this removal was in error or that you have the right to use the content, you may file a counter-notice with the following information:

  • Identification of the content that was removed and where it was located on Planted Inc.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or in the jurisdiction where your address is located) and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
  • Your electronic or physical signature.

Upon receipt of a counter-notice, Planted Inc. may restore the content unless the original complainant files a court action against the user.

6. Repeat Infringer Policy

Planted Inc. maintains a policy for terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. Users who repeatedly violate copyright laws may be permanently banned from the platform.

7. Limitations of Liability

Planted Inc. operates as an intermediary and is not responsible for the content uploaded by its users. However, upon receiving proper notice of copyright infringement, Planted Inc. will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the infringing content in accordance with applicable copyright laws.

8. Fair Use and Licensed Content

Certain content may be used on Planted Inc. under the principle of “fair use,” which allows limited use of copyrighted material without permission for purposes such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching, or research. Users should familiarize themselves with fair use provisions and ensure that their use of content complies with these legal standards.


In cases where users are utilizing content under a license (e.g., Creative Commons), they must follow the terms of that license, including proper attribution and adherence to any restrictions placed by the copyright owner.

9. Educational and Public Domain Content

Content that is in the public domain or created for educational purposes with open licenses may be shared freely on Planted Inc.. However, users are responsible for ensuring that such content is, in fact, public domain or open-licensed and not subject to copyright protection.

10. Review and Revisions

This Copyright Policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations. Any updates to the policy will be communicated to users and published on the platform.
