Hateful and Derogatory Content Policy

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for preventing, identifying, and managing hateful and derogatory content on Planted Inc.’s social media platform. This policy ensures that our online presence remains respectful, inclusive, and free of harassment or harmful behavior.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, partners, and external users engaging with Planted Inc.’s social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, YouTube, and any other digital platforms where the organization maintains an online presence.

3. Definitions
  • Hateful Content: Any communication that promotes discrimination, harassment, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or other protected characteristics.
  • Derogatory Content: Any communication intended to demean, insult, or belittle individuals, groups or businesses, which may include offensive language, name-calling, or other harmful expressions.
  • Planted Inc.’s Social Media Platforms: Planted Inc.’s public or private business online space where users can create, share, or exchange information and ideas.
4. Policy Guidelines
4.1. Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited on all Planted Inc.’s social media platforms:

  • Posting, sharing, or endorsing any hateful or derogatory comments, images, or videos.
  • Using slurs, hate speech, or offensive language that targets individuals, groups or businesses based on their identity or protected status.
  • Engaging in bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any individual or group.
  • Inciting violence, hatred, or discrimination against any person or community.
  • Sharing content that promotes harmful stereotypes or perpetuates false information about any identity, group or business.
4.2. User Responsibilities
  • Employees: Employees of Planted Inc. are expected to uphold the values of respect and inclusion in both personal and professional social media interactions. Employees are prohibited from posting or sharing hateful or derogatory content, even in personal capacities, if it can be associated with the organization.
  • External Users: Customers, partners, businesses and external contributors engaging on Planted Inc.’s platforms must adhere to these guidelines. Users who violate this policy will be subject to content removal, reporting, or blocking.
4.3. Content Moderation

Planted Inc. will actively monitor social media platforms for hateful or derogatory content. Any content that violates this policy will be:

  • Removed: Offensive content will be immediately deleted or hidden.
  • Reported: Violations may be reported to the social media platform administrators for further action.
  • Escalated: In serious cases, violations may be reported to law enforcement or relevant authorities.
5. Enforcement and Penalties
  • Employees: Any employee found violating this policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including termination, depending on the severity of the violation.
  • External Users: External users who violate this policy will be warned, and repeat offenders will be blocked from engaging with Planted Inc.’s platforms. Legal action may be taken in severe cases of hate speech, threats, or harassment.
6. Reporting Violations

Anyone who encounters hateful or derogatory content on Planted Inc.’s social media platforms should report it to Planted Inc.’s Policy Manager for immediate review and action.

7. Training and Awareness

All employees will receive regular training on the appropriate use of social media, including how to identify and report hateful or derogatory content. Training will cover the legal, ethical, and organizational responsibilities outlined in this policy.

8. Review and Revisions

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in social media trends, legal regulations, or organizational goals.
